1. New Orleans
2. Getting my classroom ready
3. How to pronounce my students names - I will share them soon
4. Trying to secure Journey tickets - it's sold out
5. Getting back into the Weight Watchers groove
6. Wondering about Guy #2
7. Getting my hair cut
8. Getting a pedicure
9. Wondering who is going to get kicked off of INXS Rock Star
10. Curious about Metro's new situation.
11. Getting some dirt on my friend Matt so that we can name him next week.
12. If I should go to Happy Hour.
13. How much gas is going to cost tomorrow.
14. Why they made a show about Tommy Lee going to college.
15. My RDR outfit.

So that is my day of wondering. There are lots of other things, but those are the major ones. No wonder I have trouble sleeping. What have you been thinking about??

BACK TO SCHOOL!!!

Well, I have been back to school for 2 days. Setting up my room and attending meetings. I have a long way to go before Thursday when the students come in to see the room and say hi to me!!! This is my 10th year of teaching. Makes my feel real old but it sure has flown by. I have not received my class list yet, but I will be sure to share with you when I do. I teach at a very culturally diverse school and tend to have students with extremely unique names - Fahrukahdin - but goes by Deen.

Here is a pic of what my room looked like yesterday when I arrived:

So, as you can see, I have a long way to go!! I will update this once I get things together.

so that is it for tonight. I did not go hashing tonight. I was at school WAY too long. Plus there is a tornado watch and I prefer to be at home when this is the case.

Happy Hump Day!!!

EXTREME DATING!!!!

Guy #2 came for the weekend. I picked him up at the airport and we came back to the house, cooked out, drank some wine and drunk talked.

Saturday we got up, had bagels with "Betz" and got ready. We headed to the Metro, hangover and all and went to the Nationals Game. We had big plans of jumping on and off the metro and stopping in at bars and pubs after the game, so we bought all day passes. We went to the game, drank some beer, ate pretzels and had a good time. Baseball games are great.

Our seats were fairly good, considering the price I paid for them.

So we left the game and were hungry. We got off the metro at L'Enfant Plaza and walked around. We walked quite a bit looking for a restaurant that was open. He got to see the Capitol Building, Washington Monument and we walked on The Mall.

We found ourselves near the MCI Center and my feet were being abused by my flip flops, so we went into McNally's. Considering it's an Irish Pub - we ordered non-traditional food. I had Curry Chicken and he had Arroz Con Pollo. Pretty good. We drank some beers and headed for home.

'Betz" had suggested that we go to Karaoke later that night and guy #2 was excited about the idea. So we took a nap at about 7. It was only supposed to be a 1 hour nap - but we didn't wake up until 9. We quickly got ready and headed out for karaoke. To our suprise, we stumbled upon a Redneck Pimps 'N Ho's party at the bar. VERY entertaining. Some guy actually brought a hoe

So, I attempted to drink - beer (lots), shots - Kamikaze, Tight Snatch. Guy #2 however did just fine with the drinks. He got drunk - VERY. He had a great time. He told me a whole bunch of times that he was having so much fun. He played pool:

He also Karaoke'd. I do have video but I swore I wouldn't share it.

So on Sunday, I was tired, cuz he SNORES and he was tired cuz he was Hungover. So we got some pizza and a sub, ate then watched some movies - All day. Then I took him to the airport.

It was a good weekend. We had a great time. However, this extreme dating is difficult. It's not like normal dating... spending all weekend with someone you just started dating is interesting. There isn't a next "date" scheduled, as Extreme Dating requires a huge commitment, both time and money. He did call and email today. I think we are both patient enough to play it by ear. I will keep you posted. AND until he says "Let's be exclusive", I will continue to do what I do. What else is a girl to do??

Tomorrow I will start my ranting about being back to school.

WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?

I went to happy hour for my friend Weeee's 30th birthday Week Long Celebration last night. See her blog for pictures from the evening.

So needless to say, I have a bit of a hangover. I should be up cleaning in preparation for guy #2 (with whom I had a very funny conversation and text messages last night), I should go into school and start putting my classroom together and I should go wash my car. None of which I feel like doing.

I really just want to watch the Ellen DeGeneres show, drink my juice and procrastinate.

Well, as I have mentioned before, I believe Guy #1 has the house bugged. Once again, I haven't heard from him in over a week until last night when he called to ask what I was doing on Friday. AUGH!!! Figures. Well, I am going to tell him I have company coming into town and we will see if he asks any other questions. Unbelievable!!

Well, that is all for today. Guy #2 will be here in 11 hours - that seems so long, but I think I have enough to do until then. I am going to try to get some pics this weekend for the blog but we will see.

Have a fantastic weekend.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE 80'S???

Every quiz or trivia or general question regarding the 80's I suck at. Now keep in mind, like most of us I was the age of 7 - 14 in the 80's. I was worried about much more at the time then pop culture - kind of like today. I took this 80's quiz: http://www.yetanotherdot.com/asp/80s.html

I got a 59% on this. Some I didn't know at all, some I put the words in that I thought were what they really said and some I simply spelled wrong.

So what was I doing in the 80's? Well, first off, I looked like this...
And this:

Who knows... Probably in 10 years I won't be able to answer trivia about today's times. I was worried about soccer, tap dancing, Student Government and Rob Hale. So there you have it- why I do not know the lyrics to Erasure or Living Colour.

So there you have it.. I am clueless. Love it or leave it!!!

ps - Guy #2 is coming on Friday. I am broke - so it's DC on a budget. Hmmm... Any ideas!!!

What Can I Buy for the same Price as a Gallon of Gas??

So gas costs about $2.80 here in the Metro DC area. As I was putting gas in my car today, and it being the end of the month - which equals poor Amanda, I was thinking about what I could buy for the same price as one gallon of gas.

1. A draft beer
2. A container of mushrooms
3. A 12 pack of Diet Coke at Wegmans
4. A tube of toothpaste
5. Laundry soap
6. A little more than one Red Bull
7. A Metro Ride to RFK Stadium
8. 4 rolls of Toilet paper
9. A Cosmo Magazine
10. TONS OF FOOD AT TACO BELL!!!
What else can you think of???

HOLY CRAP - I GO BACK TO WORK NEXT WEEK!!!

I sure am glad I went camping this weekend. It was a great way to 'end' my summer. I woke up this morning and realized that next Monday I go back to work. One week without the kids, then they are baaaaaacccccccckkkkkkkkkkkk!!!

I am looking forward to it. It's always exciting the first few weeks. So let's see... one week left - what shall I do??
1. Pack my tent away until November - sad thought - but I am determined to get it back into the original bag it came in.
2. One last real drunk Hash night.
3. Clean up for visit from guy #2.
4. Nationals game
5. One last drunk Happy Hour.
6. Maybe a day or two at the pool - although I don't think my face can take anymore sun - reference yesterdays pictures.
7. Read a few books I was supposed to read this summer - teaching material crap.
8. Make a Back to School cd - something that I can listen to and be happy.
9. Rearrange closet to School clothes and going out clothes.
10. Wear my new pink and white capris before Labor Day.

Augh - well I need to make a phone call!!! Have a great Tuesday...
BEACH INVASION COCONUT TELEGRAPH!!!

What a great time!!! The camp ground was great. The people that ran it were really cool. The other fellow beach campers were awesome.
Friday night: We arrived, listened to the Korean drums, walked around and found the Shitty hashers. The people who worked at the camp ground loaded all of our stuff - and we had a lot - see pic below. That is Boozie buried in all of our stuff - keep in mind, this is a Ford Escape.

So we got there, put up our tents and it started raining - A LOT!!! We hovered under the easy up and a tarp wall that Holy F#ck and Nub built. The rain stopped and the fun began. We cooked, drank, skinny dipped, and finally someone mentioned that it was 4:30am so I took my drunk ass to bed.

SATURDAY - 9am and VERY HOT in the tent. Got up, made breakfast which involved eggs and bacon and toast. It was GOOD!!!! Then I took a shower and spent about the next 4 hours in the water sans sunscreen. It was a lot of fun. Then we did "trail" ala Shot Checks. We started on the beach with the shots that we brought - margarita shots. Then traveled down the beach to the pier with the Korean fishermen and did a shot of something else sang a song and carried on. It was at this point that I noticed I had decided to not wear shoes. This sucked. But I hung in there. We went to a few more stops then back to camp. More water time, a little rest on the beach. The people who ran the camp site invited us to a going away party for the French interns that had been working at the camp. So Andhowsherbush, Corn on the Cock and I prepared our Corn on the Cob, put it on the grill and joined everyone at the party. This is where I met "The Devil" aka Brotherly Love and his huge bottle of Saki. I had never had Saki so I tried some. Not good. Later that night, he asked me to hold the bottle for him - and by hold I thought he meant continue to drink out of it. So I did. Apparently it turns me into a Rap Guys Girlfriend - what's up with this?? So I carried the Saki around with me for a while, continuing to drink it. I was talking with the people from the camp next to us when the Saki caught up with me. I excused myself and removed the Saki from my system. I soon returned and continued on with my evening. We once again decided to go skinny dipping. I was hanging out with "Adam" from the camp in the water when I got stung by the jelly fish. I completely freaked out and ran out of the water. I stung me on my hip, thigh, wrist and boob. Great. I decided shortly after that to hit the sack!!!

Well, Sunday was a typical Sunday at a camp site. A lot of sitting around and complaining about packing up.

Here is a link to the other pics from the weekend!!! How was your weekend?

CRABS - WHO'S GOT CRABS???
Well, we are preparing for a SHIT Beach Invasion weekend on the Chesapeak Bay. I am looking forward to this for several reasons, but one of the main ones being that I get to go Crabbing. I had no idea what this involved so I did a little research. I found out that there are several ways to catch crabs - ha!!! I know of one way I won't be catching crabs. The other ways I have to learn.
So as I was looking through websites, I found one that sells crab catching things. There's nets, and traps, and measuring things. But the thing I found most interesting on this website was the choice of the company to try to use hot models to sell their products. Does that really influence someones choice to purchase crabbing equiptment??

Maybe I am missing something, but seems I wouldn't trust this chick to be a good judge of crabbing stuff. Or maybe she is. I know media has a big influence on people - ie Guy #2 went out and bought the body spray stuff called Tag because in the commercial the guy puts it on and goes to the grocery store and there are girls all over him. He admits that that has yet to happen.

So there is my thoughts on crabbing equipment. I need to purchase a rope, a net and some chicken necks apparently. I will not be eating these crabs most likely, but enjoy the hunt. There will be sure to be pictures to follow next week.

WINK OF THE DAY: Well this one doesn't look too bad. But after further review I found this teeny tiny flaw - - - - - -

drink:
Non-alcoholic beverages only

This can't possibly work out!!! Haha!!!

HASHING IS FUN!!!
It rained, we named people, cops showed up, cops showed up at the On On On!!! Udder Ho dealt with them in a green granny hat. Good times.

So, I have recently been trying to learn how to play Texas Hold Em, as Guy #2 is an avid gambler. He played at the casino, I watched and tried to learn. Then we tried to play at his house on a video game. I did win, but no idea how. So now, I am determined. The bar we were at tonight for the On On On has free Texas Hold Em How To's. I think WEEEE!!! and I are gonna take them up on that offer.

Speaking of Guy #2, had very little communication with him today. One text message and a late night phone call. He did however have golf with his boss this morning then met up with some coworkers for a pre regional conference get together. A bit lacking considering the enormous amount of contact prior to my trip. HMMMMMM????

I did however, in all of my drunken wisdom, send a text message asking if he still liked me. HA!!! Great idea!!! Hopefully he will find it cute and funny since we talked while I was in the bar. Good Ol hashing. Makes an honest women out of everyone. Ha ha!!!

Well, hash was good. I am tired. Busy day - can't tell why though!!! wink wink.

PS - the bar lost my tab and asked me how many beers I had. Hmmm.... let me think - 2!!! Yep it was 2. And by 2 I meant 5. Oooops!! No I didn't have 5... I may have ordered 5 and a shot of Jaeger, but not all for me. However if they are going to loose my tab then that is what they get!

I AM BACK!!!

I am back from visiting guy #2. Had a great time. We watched movies, gambled, saw Wanda Sikes, ate at Michael Jordan's Steak House, yadda yadda yadda.

We get along really well. It seems like too well. It's kind of strange. However I think it is because we have several mutual friends. Who knows.

The only issue was the constant contact from his ex-wife. Normally it involved the kids in one way or the other, but sometimes she would text message him to find out if we were having fun, if we got tix to the show, etc.... Eventually, I told him it was annoying me and it somewhat stopped.

So regardless, he is coming here in 2 weeks. Hopefully it will go as well. Hopefully the ex won't call him as much if he isn't in the state.

So that's it... didn't get much sleep - he is a snorer and those that know me know any little sound keeps me up.

Thursday, August 11, 2005

So... I don't have much to talk about tonight. I worked for 4 hours, made a good Indian dinner, drank some wine and talked to guy #2. I am now watching Hooking Up.

So since I am watching this show, I thought I would share the match.com wink I received today with you all. I might think more than myself than I should, however... look at this:

Is this my potential match? Hmmmmmm I think not. Perhaps I am a hypocrite, but... come on!!!

Okay, On Out to Massachusetts.
Wish me luck!!!

ps - I sure was hoping to hear from BG on my post yesterday.. So Sad

Up Up and Away....

On Saturday I am flying to Massachusetts to see Guy #2. I must be crazy. I just met him - again - 2 weeks ago. We have talked every day - atleast twice a day.

Here are my concerns:

1. Divorced - or almost I guess

2. 2 kids

3. Close relationship with ex wife.

4. Hasn't dated since they split up.

5. Wife cheated on him

6. He lives about 400 miles away

And here is what I like:

1. We get along very well

2. He is very attentive

3. He is open to anything

4. A lot of fun

5. Cute

So I guess I will just go with the flow and see how it goes. I am unsure about how to handle this divorced guy thing. Any advice??

So It's Wednesday...
And that usually means HANGOVER. That's right folks. I have a hangover. I hared last night the Chippewa Pimps 'N Ho's Hash. Although there were few of us who actually dressed up, it was still a great time. It was a Buffalo, NY themed hash so we had Genny Cream Ale at beer check. Cheese curds, Bison CHip Dip, blue cheese and celery, Labatta Blue and Molson XXX. Also, I can't forget the Rick James blaring at start and finish. I must admit, it was a good time - except for the minor confusion on trail - Sorry Weeeee!, White Kane and Visitor.
After we went to a bar for a complimentary 2nd beer and a platter of wings. There was an acoustic band there playing some Grateful Dead and Buffett. It was great.
So guy #3 was there. We were chatting just as friends and I got a text message on my phone from Guy #2. I text (how do you say text in past tense?) him back and guy #3 asked who it was. I told him it was a guy I met 2 weeks ago in NY that lived in Mass. and I was going to see him this weekend. #3 is very hard to read. However, last night when ever I looked at my phone, he would make a SNARKY comment - "Oh is that Mr. Massachusetts?" Blah blah blah.
So once again I ask "WTF?"
ps - I slept until 11am

30 Days and Counting!!!
(I hope this turns out - it's acting funny.)
So I am down to 30 days before my summer is over and I have to return to work. I know, I know, I have been off all of July. I haven't had much time to be on "Summer Vacation" yet though.
I have decided to put together a list of things I want to do before the summer is over - here we go.
1. Go to Mass. to see Guy #2 - going this Sat. - and hopefully he will take me to see Wanda Sykes.
2. Camping on the Chesapeake Bay - covered next weekend.
3. Tiki Bar on Solomons Island
4. Steve Miller Band
5. Nationals Game
6. Go to the Ocean
7. Fishing - maybe next weekend
8. Lay by the pool for atleast 10 more days.
9. Lose 13 pounds - summer goal
10. Golf
So there is my top ten. Anyone have any other suggestions on what I should do so I feel complete before I go back to face the kids??

HASHERITAVILLE DONE AND OVER WITH
It was fun. Nice to meet some new people and see some familiar faces. Crazy stuff - especially the pub crawl. It was called The Short Bus trail and we all wore "helmets". Then we went to a hasher owned bar equipped with naked bar tenders. The best part - other than the creepy old hasher who kept asking me if he could put his hand on my shoulder blade - was when the bar was scheduled to open to the public and the owner came out after putting his clothes back on and asked "Does everyone have their clothes on?"
Then there was the shower situation. It was a homemade shower room with clear plastic as walls. Next to it was a hot tub normally occupied with old men. So I went to attempt to take a shower and just couldn't do it naked. So after about 3 hours of contemplating, I decided to put my bathing suit on and go that way. So I did... and just as I got my hair wet, somebody slipped, knocked the barrel with the hot water in it over into the shower and crashed through the wall. SHOWER OVER!!! AUGH!!! Figures!!! So I went dirty. I borrowed some baby wipes from Doc, and washed up in my tent. EWWWW!!! I did take one after the pub crawl, accompanied by a man who wanted to talk the whole shower time and of course had to explain to me that he was experiencing SHRINKAGE - like I was looking.
Well, I am still sick and EXHAUSTED - a given after tons of beer and very little sleep. Have a fabulous Monday. And if you are a SHIT hasher, you better be prepping your Pimps 'N Ho's outfit for Tuesday.

I'M SICK AND I'M GOING CAMPING?? CAN THIS HAPPEN??

Yes, I have my summer bout of chest congestion/bronchitis. I am leaving tomorrow for Nittany Valley H3 900th Hasheritaville. Hmmm... I think it will be okay - or I will end up in the hospital. AUGH!!!

Anyways, I got some new pics from the Bachelorette Party. Way too funny to keep to myself. Some of you know "Fun Laurie" and know how funny she is.

So since I am sick, I am taking the easy way out today.

This is me with my new lighter.

Laurie getting "arrested"

Laurie being "punished"

One of the mom's spanking the "naughty" cop

Well, there ya go. I have to pack for Hasheritaville - thanks for the list Heidi!!! I also have to scout trail tonight and hopefully make it to happy hour - but probably not.

Wasting away in Hasheritaville!!!

THIS IS FOR ALL MY GIRLS ABOUT 31.5

So it seems to me that whenever I get over one guy and move onto another, the other guy always comes back. WTF??? I swear they have bugged my house.

Here's an example - I met Guy #1 about a year ago at a hashing weekend. We have hung out for almost a year. Nothing real serious. Before I left for my trip home, I didn't hear from Guy #1 for about a week. I can easily get over people. Then I went home and at one of the parties I went to I met guy #2. Guy #2 is recently divorced with 2 kids. The funny thing about him is that we actually met like 5 years ago at our mutual friends wedding and danced together there. He however was married at the time and that was the end of that (shut it those who know me)

So at this party, we intially met the second I arrived. And hung out the rest of the night and well you get the picture. So he's very nice - however recently divorced from a girl he has been with since he was like 21. She cheated on him and that was the end of their marriage. He seems very sweet. When he dropped me off after the party - yes it was the next morning - we exchanged phone numbers on the premise of "If I am ever in the DC area" etc.... however about 6 hours later he called.

Yadda Yadda Yadda... we are trying to get together next weekend based on my drunk dials to him tonight post hash.

When I get home, I have an email from Guy #1 - misses me, wants to hold me, blah blah blah. Effin Figures!!!!

question of the day: What do I do now???? PS - Tuesday night - which means this a post hash blog!!! Please keep in mind.

Guy #1 isn't exactly available - but we are very compatible. Guy #2 is very nice and available.

BACK IN THE N-O-V-A
FINALLY!!! It's hard to phathom that I just spent the same amount of time in Batavia, NY as I did in Cancun, Mexico. AUGH!!! I am so glad to be back. This will be a photo journey of my time at home.
After the golf tournament on Sat. - which my step dad and I shot an 89 and my sister and her partner shot a 136 - my mother and 2 sisters and I went to Niagara Falls for our annual girls trip. We ate at Wolfgang Pucks for lunch, then walked around for a bit looking at the falls and went to the Casino. We went back to the hotel and then this happened. They were so tired.

So after the nap session we went to dinner at a tapas restaurant. It was good. There was supposed to be a man walking a tight rope high above the city but it was too windy - so he didn't.
After dinner we walked through town and watched fireworks. The next day we got up and went on the Maid of the Mist. I hadn't been on it since I was real little. It is very awesome.
I highly recommend this if you are ever up that way!!!! After the Maid of the Mist we went Wine tasting in Niagara On the lake. Another highly recommended location.
Later that night we went to a Vegas style magic show - the venue was great, the food was great the magic was a little iffy. The guy had tigers and maccaws, but didn't do much with them. He did a lot with disappearing hoochies, but that was about it.
After the magic show, we just went back to the hotel and went to sleep. I think the wine wore us out.
The next day we stopped at Duty Free, bought some stuff and went back to Batavia.
Weds. night we celebrated my parents 20th wedding anniversary. That was fun!!! I even tried to squeeze into the dress I wore for this event - but a girls size 14 dress just doesn't fit.
Thursday my sister and I baby sat for my niece and nephew. My niece is into this shrilling thing. She just screams as loud as she can for no reason.
My nephew always looks scared or suprised. So cute!!!
On Saturday, my friend Rich took me out on his boat. It was so relaxing, although I got a little sea sick. We drove past the summer camp I used to work at.
I had 2 parties to attend that evening. First was a bachelorette party for my friend Laurie. Yes that's me with my eyes clothes. And also yes, the bride to be's gay uncle was there also.
I won a lighter at the party for unscrambling the most bachelorette party words. It's a naked torso of a man. I will probably loose it soon.
I stayed at the bachelorette party for a little while, then headed over to a Jimmy Buffett themed party. I had Flamingo beer bongs ready to go and they were a huge hit.

Me doing a Flamingo bong and my friend Dawn's mother and my new 'friend" Jerry.

Here you see Melvin Robinson III doing a dance. I think his name is Melvin, he goes by Mel.

So after that night we drove back to VA. Huge hangover and all.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY to be back!!!

Lots to take in. Question of the day: Does this trip constitute a vacation or do I need to take another one??? I am off for all of August. Wooohoooo!!!
